We love a reason to get together and celebrate here at Lakings and the next big event on our calendar is just around the corner – with Easter Sunday falling on April 17th this year.
As you know by now, our extensive range of wonderful, seasonal produce is available both online and in our shop, celebrating all your favourite the flavours of spring. Choose from our quality Lincolnshire beef, herb fed chicken, pork which is farmed just several miles from our shop here in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds and, of course, our grass-fed lamb.
Flavoursome, ethically and sustainably produced, we have stocked our butcher’s counter with the finest produce Lincolnshire has to offer for you to enjoy. But what to cook? Let’s focus on creating the perfect centrepiece for your Easter Sunday gathering.
Grass-fed Lamb
Nothing says ‘Easter’ roast like a Crown of Lamb. A classic cut, our crowns are created using both loins of the lamb and tied together to create the succulent joint we know as a crown. Each Lakings lamb crown contains the equivalent of 14 chops. Don’t forget to check out our range of Mrs Darlington’s condiments to accompany your lamb masterpiece – including apple and mint jelly, redcurrant jelly and classic mint sauce.
Alternatively, our delicious boned and rolled shoulder of lamb has so much to offer. The foodie’s favourite, put it in the oven and forget about it for hours on end. We love roasting ours with lemon and thyme for a spectacularly tasty family roast full of flavour.

The king of cuts, a Rib of Beef is something to be celebrated and to celebrate with! An impressive and full-flavoured cut, rib of beef almost insists on being carved at the table and so is ideal for large get-togethers. Lakings ribs are something we pride ourselves on, exceptionally well butchered with more meat than you’ll find on most rib joints. We also offer silverside, topside, sirloin and brisket joints – all suitable for roasting.
Herb Fed Chicken
Reared on a farm in Yorkshire under the highest welfare standards and fed on a diet that includes 10 varieties of fresh herbs, these herb fed chickens promise to deliver a flavoursome roast, perfect for a family gathering this Easter. Alternatively, we also offer grain-fed birds, sourced from a farm in Norfolk. Please note, if ordering online, these chickens are only available for delivery on Thursday / Friday / Saturday.
Lincolnshire-raised Pork
Coming from a highly innovative and state-of-the-art Red Tractor farm in the Wolds, where welfare standards are rigorously upheld, you can trust in the quality of our pork.
When it comes to choosing a classic cut for that Sunday roast, opt for a boneless loin of pork. This easy to carve pork roast is prepared using the traditional whole rib. It has a natural covering of fat on the outside, which provides the meat with full-flavour benefits. Serve with Mrs Darlington’s Bramley apple sauce and sage and onion stuffing for a real people-pleaser of a dinner.
Our fantastic range of seasonal produce will make for a celebration to remember on Sunday, 17th April. Pop into our shop or order online for all your Easter dining needs.
