Louth Food and Drink Festival – September 29
Following the success of last year’s event, the Louth Food and Drink Festival is back!
Hosted by East Lindsey District Council’s Love Louth and with more than 60 food and drink stalls, cookery demos and an incredible atmosphere, make sure you save the date!
Taking place on Sunday, September 29, from 10am – 4pm, Louth Food and Drink Festival is part of the Vital and Viable Market Towns initiative, promoting and preserving towns in the East Lindsey area and there will be something for all tastes to enjoy.
Last year, a host of local Lincolnshire producers attended, including Louth’s Luda Brewery, Horncastle’s Foxy Cakes & Bakes, and Lincs Table from Woodhall Spa.
This year we’re sure to see more of the same, with products on sale including local cheeses, chutneys, cakes, pastries, wines, beers, pizza, gin, waffles, fudge, fries, chocolate, ice cream and much more.
As well as stalls to buy the delicious delicacies there will also be demonstrations from local suppliers and venues throughout the day, as well as live music and a children’s area.
Speaking to the Grimsby Telegraph, ahead of the launch of the inaugural event last year, Councillor Adam Grist, East Lindsey District Council portfolio holder for Market Towns and Rural Economy, said: “We are incredibly excited for the festival to kick off in less than a week, and to enjoy the fantastic variety of high-quality food and drink businesses on offer in Louth and the surrounding area. It will be fantastic to see residents, visitors and traders come together to celebrate and explore this offer for themselves. I would encourage everyone to come along to support our local businesses and producers, while also getting involved in some amazing competitions, activities and performances.”
Large crowds descended on the picturesque market town to attend the festival last year and it was hailed as a success.
The town’s mayor Julia Simmons officially opened the event, saying it went really well and she hoped it would be repeated in the future. “We’re really pleased with how it went, and the weather held out which was good,” she said. “It really brought people together and we hope there will be similar events in the future.”
Building on the success of the 2023 festival, this year it is back to tempt food and drink lovers.
With Lakings’ shop based in Louth and our family farm nestling among the rolling hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds, the ethos of the event as a celebration of the incredible food and drink produced here makes this an event we are happy to endorse.
We can’t wait to see the town bustling with locals and visitors, all here to sample the artisan delights made by some incredible fellow Lincolnshire producers!
